Hamburglar suspected in Ronald McDonald kidnapping
February 26th, 2007
File this one under “LOL”. The boys in blue with the Baytown PD have reported that a 6 foot tall Ronald McDonald figure was stolen from the McD’s located at Garth Rd. off of the East Frwy. on either the 3rd or the 4th.
Apparently someone REALLY likes Ronald, committed a drunken crime, or… both!? Apparently the crook had broken through a fence and defeated a lock to make away with the famed ketchup-n-mustard man.
The manager of the fast food place, Robert Ibarra has been quoted by KPRC Local 2 as saying “He’s old, but we want him back.” When questioned in regards to who might have taken Ronald, Ibarra’s response was “Maybe the Hamburglar, they don’t get along too well.”
Okay, now I’m laughing, aren’t you? It’s too bad that the McDonald’s icon is MIA, but the manager’s sense of humor puts a light-hearted twist on this greasy caper.
If you spot the pictured, inanimate man-object valued at approximately 2,000 buckeroos, please contact the Baytown Police Department.
